| MOBILE PHONE APPEAL - Local Chapters Helping Local Charities |
How it Started:
- Phones were being collected in the name of national charities.
- By looking into this we realised that the charities were only getting a fraction of what the phones were worth.
- We found a company in China which offered the best price.
- We though that we could help local charities
- We committed to raise €1000 each for 4 local charities by September.
What local charities?
- Western Care
- Mayo Women’s Support Services
- Mayo / Roscommon Hospice
- Western Alzheimer Association
What happens the phones?
- They are sent to China for recycling
- Broken down into parts and tested
- The working parts are made into reconditioned phones and sold to developing markets
YOU can do this...
- Each chapter can collect phones to raise funds for a local charity of their choice.
- The chapter should co-opt the charity into recycling phones as well.
- All phones collected for your charity will be converted into cash.
- Your chapter will receive cheque in the name of the charity for the full amount.
€1,000,000 COULD BE RAISED FOR CHARITY...
- There are 54 chapters in Ireland
- If each chapter just collected 2000 phones in a year
- This could possibly raise 1 Million Euro for local charities
